Solder the wire to the led, shape acrylic to fit in the slot of the wing, drill out acrylic for LED, insert led to acrylic block, wedge into wing, route wire to receiver. I used my vinyl cutter to produce a piece of vinyl with the grid of multiple holes for the light to shine through. Done. I should add that this was done for under $7.00.

If I can't get a piece of acrylic would maybe a clear piece of scrap lexan might work just as good?

I have seen some people use it and some not use it. Is the counterweight for the F104 really needed?

It is very weird on foams..not recommended.

Rubber tires, it may be worth a try. Like Brad said, sometimes it's better than other times.

Crazy idea BP, I am working on making a 1/10 Touring Car Safety Car body for our races. Could it be possible to make a decal sheet that looks like the safety car. How cool would that be to have a safety car come out midway through the race to tighten the field back up. With lights and all.

It's not that crazy, and quite honestly it's what sets F1 apart from all the other cookie cutter classes. It can be done, for a fee. After I get the normal stuff under control, I will start doing custom stuff for people. The safety car should be pretty easy, it's just 2 door decals and maybe a hood graphic.

I could seriously see a safety car on a huge outdoor track like Leisure. Even setting pace for a roll off lap would be unique.

I thought I remember seeing a video here that had a safety car doing a warm up laps with the cars. The announcer even mentioned the cars going back and forth to simulate warming the tires.

This one hasn't had an outing for a little while, but with a growing field at our local track, maybe it's time to get it out

PS: Would love to know where I could a 1/10 SLS body...
