Getting back into racing.. help needed
I am getting back into racing after almost a year away from the hobby and need a little help with speedo selection. What are the fast guys running these days for batteries & speedos?
Thanks for the help.

Have you heard anything regarding the GM speedos like the ESC-SX9 or the GM ESC-V12 WORLDS EDITION? It's going in a 12th scale car..
Thx

Keyence -- smaller, better, slightly more expensive than GT7
LRP Quantum 2
Novak GT7
However, you may want to look into brushless. Novak's system can step you from stock/19t to 11t-ish mod speed with one speedo and one motor that you never have to true the comm or buy brushes for. Much cheaper than buying the now-necessary lathe and bulk pack of brushes. Plus, it is much easier to maintain, no decrease in performance, etc.
Batteries are usually GP3300s as stated above. Just get some good numbers from a reputable matcher. You can even get some good used packs on EBay or other source -- might be your best bet to get back into things. More packs = more practice time usually. The more you practice, the more you will know what you need.
Welcome back into the hobby!

Brushless...Not YET. But I don't think it 'll be to long. When Novak and Hacker come out with the next generation systems I think there will be a few more converts.
Speedos....GM, LRP Q2, Mtroniks M3. All really small
Batteries....I think everybody will say GP3300's. There are alot of good matchers out there.

if you want some good batteries at a cheap price look into some Fukuyama cells

You still can't go wrong with the gool ol' cyclone . I run them in all of my cars and they work great. For 1/12th scale I would go with a LRP because its much lighter than the Cyclone or anything else. Even just the quantum pro sport would work good enough for 12th scale, and I'm pretty sure 12th scale mod too. But the quantum comp. 2 does look pretty cool, with its drive frequency that changes during different points in the throttle, and it's fully water resistant. I want to try one of those sometime.
