On or off road, shaft drive is the way to go. I hated messin with those dam belts on my old Pro 3/4. I have had a TC4 now for quite some time and am very happy with it's performance. You can pick up good used ones in almost any forum and the parts are very plentifull!!

This is good advice.

TA05, while great cars, need a clean track (not the road)
Even at my local track, my TA05's(I had 2) would often get small stones into the pinion gears, destroying them. had to sell them because of this.

Also, get a plastic pan car (TT01,TB-03 etc) rather than a carbon chassis car. They will handle the abuse better.

TT01E is also a very tough (if overpriced ) car. Will easily survive head on crashes.

It's really a great car, affordable, easy to maintain and work on, dependable! If you really look around you can pick one up in the $160-$170 range NEW! It's a car that grows with you. You may be street bashing for the time being but when you are ready to hit the track it's a car that won't let you down and you'll be right there in the mix. Those belts are tougher than you think. I've got two outdoor seasons and a full indoor season on a set of belts and they are still performing. I've only stripped out the Center Shaft Pully once and one pionon/spur 64 tooth gear once because of debris.

Thanks Rick, I want a kit not the RTR. The FT TC4 kit is hard to come by new in box.
What are all my options of shaft drive cars. I do like the idea of the shaft drive much better.
