Default MMP and Velineon

I picked up a mmpro with a 5700 a month or so ago and stuck it in my slash. Now the one thing I had considered is sticking a velineon motor in there in it's place. I was up at the LHS the other day and noticed they have the motors now sold seperately, however the guy there told me the mmpro and the velineon motors are not compatible. He's a good guy who generally has his facts straight but I just wanted verification as I was sure that the mamba max and the sidewinder both were able to run the velineon. Can anyone verify or negate what I've been told? Thanks

He probably knew his stuff but failed to verbalize it correctly. What he most likely meant is that the Valenion is non sensored and MMP is a sensored ESC. They'll work, it'll just work in sensorless mode.

There is some soldering required : the MMP uses 4mm female bullet connector and the Velineon motor has 3.5mm connectors...
