Are engine break in benches any good?

The advantage of using a breakin bench is that you can use near full throttle with a very very rich high speed needle. Also the prop will create a simulated load on the engine which you don't get by some of the "normal" breakin procedures that tells you to have the car off the ground.
Basically more fuel can go through the engine (also meaning more oil) and more heat can be used to "seat" the internals.
For my R1, we used 1 tank at idle (do this primarily for the rod, bushings/bearings, and other small parts), 1 tank at 180 degree F, 1 tank at 190 degree, and 2 tanks at 200 degrees, plus a couple of tanks of light in car running on the track.
Sorry I can't give you any recommendations for commercial breakin benches. I used a friends homemade bench.
