Can someone give a few drift tips
Hi everyone,
I've tried to google rc drift instructions and search youtube videos. I've also searched several forums but I can't find anything straight to the point. Can someone please give me some tips and advise on how to practice the figure 8.
I dont know when to really let off the acceleration and vis versa.
I bought the Tamiya Supra a few weeks ago.

first off make sure you got the right gear smoth level surface.
the figure of 8 is the hardest practice method.
if your so new to this start with straght line dirfts basicly nail the throttle and turn in alternate directions this will give you a feel for how the car reacts and more importantly teach you when to counter steer.
for the figure 8 start off with the throttle about 1/3 start your turn and go up till you start to slide hold this power and counter steer apropriatly for the turn to straighten out ease off the throttle slowly letting go will send you spinning.
the thing about drift is you need to have smoth changes and constant forward movement of the wheels.
im thinking of makeing a demo for my lhs i'll post on you tube as well

thanks that was helpful. I used to full throttle as the car made a corner and tried to counter steer at the same time and then I would let off the throttle. But now I'll try to keep the throttle constant around the turn.
Any other advise would really help.
Thanks again

if your car is still stock you want atleast a rear spool, if not 2 spools to learn how to drift.
or tight ball diffs.

1- Smooth surface
2- Very hard tires
3- stock motor (19 t max)
4- normal differentials (better planetary)
5- PRACTICE
The 8 is OK, drop the throttle as you see you are loosing the tail of your car.
6- PRACTICE
7- tires.

I just took my diff out and super glues em. Watch videos of real cars drifting and watch and listen to the throttle control and the counter steering and you will get a pretty good idea
