How are you all keeping your wheel nuts tight?

These 17mm nuts seem to want to come loose all the time even if you torque the crap out of them.

BTW, I discovered the Ofna nuts use a different thread pitch (1.3) compared to the Kyosho & XTM nuts (1.0).

Ofna has these serrated 17mm nuts it will not come off.

I use loctite and have yet to loose a wheel. Now watch, I've gone and jinxed myself for saying that.

Wow!! I never noticed that. I guess I should be paying better attention to what I'm doing. I'm guessing these are stock that come with the DM-1 Spec and GTP2e??

I was starting out with a spool in the center and I'm going to switch to a diff, no 2-spd nonsense.

It was suggested to me to run ~100-120K weight in the center diff.

I'm still working on gearing, but something in the order of 46/15 should be close.

I've got my center diff with 120k wt and I'm geared at 48/16. I agree with that 2-spd being a pain. What shock oil are you running? I've got it at stock. I believe 80wt.F&R but I did put the white springs on the front (medium). A little better than when I had the red (soft) up front. Then again, I'm just experimenting. Trial and error.

My suspension is all stock at the moment. I have not had enough time to actually race this car to find out what I want to change on the suspension.

Yesterday was the first time it saw a full day of racing.

I'm planning on going to upright mounted shocks in the front, then I will mess with oils, springs, etc.

SNR is the guy to talk to about suspension on these cars.

Yeah, I noticed that when I picked up some extra wheel nuts and they didn't work. Was going to toss some RC8 hubs on it, but the drive pins on the RC8 are bigger than the ones on the Ofna. I'd like to make everything the same wheel nut. The stock DM1 nuts aren't serrated.

So the ofna uses 2.5x17 mm drive pins vs the 3x17mm that losi and AE use.


Oh, hey whose A/B/C/D aluminum plates should we get for the DM-1. Want to be prepared for if I smack the light post.
