I was out of racing for a while....and while talking to some buds at the snowbirds, I heard there was a prototype that used a graphite plate chassis with an upper deck.....just curious if anyone has pics of it some where. You can send them to me at [email protected]

I believe that's the second prototype. The first one had pivot ball suspension, but got ditched because it was too heavy and too difficult to adjust without a setup station a la Hudy.

I don't like it, the batteries and electronics are too far away from the belt/center of car. The sway bars are also mounted weirdly. The graphite plate would have more flex than the Graphite Molded one. Thats good if your racing for asphalt, but most people race on carpet.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Andrew Moore from Great Britain made the A final at the worlds in japan with the Losi prototype.

Nah, Andy was in the middle of his Yokomo "sabbatical" at the worlds.

The original Losi prototype had the pivot ball suspension so they could mess around with the geomotry more easily.

I've got a couple of pics of the prototypes, I'll see if I can dig them out.

At the worlds in Japan I think the highest qualifying Losi was Jukka, who was tied for 10th and got bumped to the B on the tiebreaker. Still a very good showing, even if the car does look like a table saw.

What are you talking about? I'd have to think well over half the people that race run on asphault. Think about how big parking lot racing is.

most people race both here carpet in winter and asphalt in summer

We don't exactly need that down here. if we get rained out 3-4 times a year, that's a wet season.

your right geoff, wisconsin sucks, but even if i did live in socal where ?jeff? lives, i would either race at socal raceway, or a carpet track. I hate parking lots, they are very abrasive, damage your body, and are outside. Carpet rocks. don't start this conv. though. why cant somebody make a fibre chassis that is good for carpet, always, just get some graphite supports.
