Thanks Arun for the info. Is this mini AE nut the one without the nylon at the end (just a flat nut) ? Do you have the part# for it also ? Thanks again.

But now, after spacing them this way, I wish all the cars out there had only dogbones and no universals. Dogbones are so durable and stress free compared to the cvd's on my tc3 (Don't worry, its an electric tc3), and I can't go a race day without seeing someone shatter a universal on an MTX-3.
Viva la dogbones!

Yup, couldn't agree more. Dogbones are more durable and rugged for nitro cars. I've been using my spring steel front dogbones for close to 2 years aleady and it's still there. Universals are meant more fo electric cars where efficiency is moe important.

Thanks. I'll try your method. The spacing out that I do now is almost full proof.

Very true. I just don't think that universals can be built to be up to the task of handling today's engines. It's just one thing that I don't have to worry about on the serpent cars. I have been running my spring steel dogbones so long that the drive pins wore completely flat; at that point, I just turned the pins 90 degrees and ran them again!

Regarding axles. This is from Kolff back in april. Maybe something for the 710?

( That "D" seems to be present in all things 705 )
The Front axles are prototype CVD's that we are durability testing. They are holding up well but a release date is still to be decided.

hey guys, well i'm in the process of making slightly longer dog bones made of Titanium for the Serpent 705 for my car. Hopefully this will free up some Unsprung weight and stronger dog bones. Hopefully they will be done within 2 weeks and solve most of our problems.
chris
p.s. Are their any other things I can do to free up weight >?

RC Pit Stop Shop...if you're familiar
I change those screws in 2 speed (6 flat head screws). Wow the 2 speed now is lighter than before. Thinking of changing the long screws in the 2 speed clutch.

Not forgetting titanium shafts for the 2 speed.
