In my previous post I gave the range for IB3800s. 390-430 at 35 amps or 460-500 at 30 amps. Many get confused with amp rates.

Danny how can I get some IB3800's in the 1.19 range? The best I have been able to get a hold of is 1.185.

The IB3600s have less voltage and are 20 seconds less in runtime than the IB3800s.

1.185 is really good at 35 amps. We are now starting to ship 1.19+ as a higher percentage of cells are now in that range. The way the IB3800 is built with low IR you shouldn't really notice a big difference between a 1.185 and a 1.195. Some of the average voltage is closer to the end of the voltage curve.

Sorry about that misinformation, Danny. While typing it I was trying to think of what it would be at 30 amps, and I was thinking probably at least 460. It won't happen again.

No problem I knew that is what must of happened. Many mix up 30 and 35 amp numbers.

Just curios what the IR range is on SMC 3800's? I just got some at 1.7. Is this fairly common? BTW the voatges are 1.186-1.187.

1.7-2.0 is normal.....with a 1.6 popping up here and there...

GP stuff is usually 1.9-2.3

Danny- What's the highest average voltage you've seen at 35 amps?

1.7 at 35 amps is pretty much as low as it will get. We do see the odd 1.6 but they are very rare. Basically the lower the IR means that the cells have a bit more voltage upfront. If a cell has higher IR but similar average voltage it means that it will have better voltage towards the end of the discharge curve. Please remember were talking about a tenth of a milli ohm so that is a very small amount.

I really don't like to say what the highest voltage is because racers will expect to see those numbers in packs at the local shops and tracks. On our TM4's we do see the occasional 1.20+ cell but there isn't enough to match packs up because of the the spread in runtime and IR. SMC puts allot of effort into cycling large amounts of cells to make sure we can match a pack up by runtime, voltage and IR.

It seems like IB is tweaking the cells to get more average voltage out of them from batch to batch. That being said it's not a huge improvement but it's still one. If the batches improve a bit more we could be able to ship out some 1.20+ packs in the near future.

If IB keeps tweaking the cell, and GP remains in the competition, do you forsee any problems with legality in ROAR races? If the cell keeps getting faster and faster, would they ban these possibly to slow things down? Similar to the 10 or 12T motor limit... or is it too small of a difference?
