This is what X-Ray says about it:

High-quality CNC-machined graphite upper deck for XRAY T1FK’05 is wider than standard #301164 upper deck for increased chassis stiffness; for high-grip conditions especially foam/carpet racing. Designed with two extra rear mounting positions for #306510 Alu Top Deck Mounts. Includes composite bearing holder.

To set a ultra stiff chassis, it is suggested to use this wide top deck and the #306510 Alu Top Deck Mounts both in front and rear.

I'm using it. With no posts and no alu-parts attached it gives more flex and more grip on low grip asphalt.
And it gives the flexibility to change the stiffness of your car very simple.

Mine don't P-Dub- 13.5 grams and Stock is only 4 grams.

CaptMicro- yes, that is where I have run my Transponder for quite some time now. It keep the CG low and there is no CF under it to not pick up the laps. I think I saw one of the cars in the last TC Mag like that so tried it and it works good.

IN10CT- I use the wide upper deck for the same reasons Joep does. Flexibility and tunability. On Carpet with foams, you need all posts and 3mm chassis like this car has. For pavement with rubbers I still use it but take out the posts.

JAMESCAM- I will take a few photos here soon and post them for you.

Thanks for the comments.

Yeah, and incredible. Even my lightest XRAY bumper, one of the thin ones with a transponder cutout, weighs 8 grams. Anyone else have the superlightweights?

Again, nice job! Did you shorten the servo & ESC wires or are you just hiding them well

C-Lyon, Yeah, I dont get that at all?? Both of mine weigh the same also? Both stock ones are 4 grams. , Does anyone have one of the blue stock ones? If so, how much does that weigh?

The ESC wires are just run along the chassis so they look short. I didn't want to cut them. The servo I just cut the wires in the middle and resoldered them together. Same with PT.

And less flex equals less independent front/rear chassis roll resulting in more corner speed if your tires, downforce and the rest of your setup provide enough traction to keep the car from drifting off the track.
