Post Kyosho Truggy

What kind of initial upgrade do I need to make to the steering servo? What Brand or type.

Well, I think starting with a good servo would be first and last. Try a Futaba 9351. It has both strength and speed.

OK.

Now that you have the steering servo sorted out then get a Futaba 9451 servo for the throttle/brake and you'll be all set.

Also I'm assuming the you have the ST US, if so then dump the AAs and get a 5 cell NiMH rechargable Rx pack to power the servos.

Default Great, Thank you

Now if I could get the damn thing from dying once I give it gas I will be in good shape. It was running fine at the track but at home I was running it at the park and it just took off and would NOT stop then it hit a huge water puddle and I haven't been able to get it tuned correctly since.

Default Servo Upgrade

I have a Kyosho Truggy and I think the best sterring servo is the HITEC 5955TG. Great Speed and awesome troque. Make the big investment and you won't buy another servo again.

The KO Propo 2386 is THE best servo for truggy steering. It will mash all those others into the dirt, and come back for seconds. It's a little more $$ initially, but very strong. Also, if you run lipo, these servos can take the voltage. They won't burn out if something happens to your regulator.

Too much for what you get. OK about $115 to $120. But save some money for postage to send them in for repair.

Default HITEC PRICE

The HITEC sells for about 90 online. Its Digitial has awesome power and plan and simple works without failure. Servos are almost a pay for what you get kind of thing I'm sure less troque will get it done but they will fail and if I can get 2 for 1 and just make the intially purchase seems like less of a hassle.

If you plan to race back any steering servo you own with a HS645. It will get you through in the event any servo goes bad and at 30.00 if you do burn it up atleast you can still get from Qual's into your mains.

Totally agree, I've had 2 hitec's fail on me during racing and there'e no way I was gonna get a 3rd !!!

I only use hitec servo's for some of my back yard bashers !!

Futaba and KO are what i use, yes you pay a bit more up front(for similar spec's to hitec) but it's well worth the extra !!
