Simple question - why?

I would have thought the majority of racers now buy ready mounted tyres, inserts on rims.
Most major race series run control ready mounted combinations. There used to be loads of different style of rims available, but I can't remember the last time I actually purchased seperate rims, tyres and inserts.

Nice CAD picture, so what are the benefits of this new rim? Have any actually been produced and tested in real world conditions?

Benefits from the material used for the rim and the possibility to change pressure of tyre, talking about limited production.

Sometimes R & D results in better products both in terms of performance and price.

If they think they can come up with a better rim. why not?

The real question is whether they can come up with a smaller picture. 2628x1890? Holy crap!
