My brother is building a XRAY T2R and was not careful enough with the CA glue when gluing the edges of his battery slots. A little dribbled onto the top part of his chassis. Looks awful.

How can he remove the CA glue from the chassis without damaging the finish of the material?

Nail Polish remover?

do they sell something at home depot that washes away CA glue?

Its called Acetone...Walmart even carries it...

Just don't try it if you are
A) under 18 and
B) try to buy other flamables..

just use a razor blade to evenly scrape off the drop of glue. Then polish the blemish with mothers metal polish or something similar.

pacer z-7 debonder $4.29 for 1 oz from shop.com product made to soften cured ca.
all you do is appy wait 5 min.
use a credit card to scrape off looks like new. you can buff to polish if you want.

I thought ca was just for carbon chassis.

why are you applying CA to T2r chassis anyway?

If that is a T2R, it is not carbon fiber, just some black colored fiber circuit board thingy.........use a sharp knife and scrap it off....or some nice stickers will cover it up.

It is the car and the skill that matters, not the CA.........

I don't know what the chassis material is.

but in the building manual it says to sand all edges and cover with CA glue.


I'm looking for more input on using Acetone and to find out what others have used to remove CA glue from chassis'

Using a blade is not an option it will definately scratch the chassis surface.

I rather look at other options before letting him resort to that.

Yea except work....what do you think is in the $1.23 a bottle of De-bonder?
It is acetone.... two drops let it set for a few seconds...viala its history...
Don't believe me fine...
But when I soak my Truggy tires in acetone overnight the rubber separates from the rim without a problem...

Acetone won't stain and is only like $1.75 at Walmart/Home Depot/Lowes/Kmart....Take your pick its in the paint department...

Sorry if I sound defensive...But I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't already try and have success with it..

Heh, I'm sorry! To tell you the truth I believed your opinion right off the bat because of yer sig and post count.

But I was bored at work and wanted to read others opinions on acetone :P

I grabbed my lil bro pure acetone after work so we are going to give it a shot.

The Acetone worked awsome at removing the CA superglue.

It seemed to melt the CA and allow it to be wiped off.

The acetone did not have an affect on the chassis material.

Unfortunately the CA glue left what looks like a permanent mark.
