4 cells, hmm. I really don't think that's legal Alan.
Here's what ROAR states:

5-15: Unless a lower number is specified in the class requirements, a maximum of six cells is
permitted in ROAR competition.

1/10 ELECTRIC CART/F1/IRL
Batteries - 6 cells maximum

Is the CRC car faster in straightline than the tamiya with the same motor and battery? Does it use standard pan car wheels?

The CRC is WAAAYYYY faster in a straightline than the tamiya. I think this is because it is so lightweight. It uses standard pan car wheels.

Mike - the way I'm reading that it says that the most cells allowed is 6 cells, it doesn't say that 6 cells are required. I think that 5-15 means that you can't use more than the number specified. What it means by "unless a lower number is specifed" is that if the limit was 4 cells, you couldn't use 5, and the maximum that you could use would be 4, but if you felt so inclined to, you could use 3 cells. Whats your perspective on that rule?

I hear what your saying and It could be interpret that way, however we wont be going lower than 6 cells in any class, sorry.

You know, there's also a weight limit in F-1, MIN of 36 ounces

I prefer running a P2K, but if the track is really slippery, I'll go to an MVP since it has less low rpm torque. Most of the tracks that I race on don't have really long straightaways since stock sedans also run on them. I usually run 5.00:1 with the P2K and 6.25:1 or 5.77:1 on the MVP. The track layout changes from race to race, so I usually don't run the same gear ratio every race.

We share the track as well. e run Nitro,MINI, OPEN, STOCK, F-1 all on the same course. If my 100 / 25 doesn't seem like it accelerates with my RS 540, I'll go to 100/21 and see how it works. If all fails I'll throw in that P2k2 with a 100/17 and see how she handles.

Default IT'S A TAMIYA

everything they make is either at the weight or over it. Mine weighed in at 41 ounces, with battery and body, no transponder.

P2k2 and im about to replace the brushes with some that add rpm. Need the RPM in F1...do NOT want torque with this car...I would be the doughnut KING . Thought about running a GM3...but i dont have anymoney for that.

Did you see my "other" F1 in the MSRA classifieds?

doughnuts....oooh........sorry I got carried away. What spur and pinion are you running with that P2k2. I keep getting around, maybe this maybe that. Looks like you already ran it so you would know.

I saw that, you might want to place the same add on www.formula1-rc.com.

Sunday there's a 40% chance of Rain

What would be the best tires for racing? Im using "black dots" all around ...thats what my manager said they were. I race on low bite asphalt that is a little bumpy and was wondering if there are better tires out there that I should use.
