so whats the hot setup - top to bottom, not looking for what your running, more of a,,, if you could run anything what would it be..

I have tested all cars from all brands. The best quality I have seen are from Xray and Mugen. Mugen is going to come up with a new update so it might not be a good idea to go that route.

Between all the engines mentioned above, I strongly recommend going with the Max or the RB because I have seen many bad bearings with the Novarossi.

So thats the top TC equipment in my opinion.

Would have to go with Riketsu. In mine opinion the NT1 is the best car of the moment and the RB engines are the most powerful.
As an other option for the car I would say the new Capricorn car. It basically has the same geometry as the NT1 but it is loaded with every option you would ever want straight out of the box.
To round everything of a 2604 and 2652 pipe and some nice low-profile servos.

I know you are tried of hearing this but, all of the touring on the market are capable of winning races. However the nt1 hands down wins in the fit&finish and quality department. Corvettes are fast but there not a ferrari

Ok well, back on topic.

Any of the top TC's can win. That's not just lip service, it's the truth. NT1 seems to be the popular choice right now, Shepherd is the hot new arrival and looks very promising, Serpent has a loyal following but they tend to come out with new cars more often than most so if you hate cars of the week, that could be an issue for you. Mugen is still great but getting dated and will probably have a new car soon. The others are great but parts and tech support can be iffy. Sometimes great, sometimes not.

Motors. A Nova based motor is going to be king of power. Picco and OS, just about as good and usually cheaper.

Most pros can whoop any other amateur driver with a bone stock car while your ride sports all the fancy alloy parts and more that cost you as much as the car kit itself. I'd be satisfied with an MTX4r as I did rather well with an MTX4 and front one way diff and cva's all around. RB, Max, and Novarossi for my engine pick. As for a pipe it depends on what you are looking for. You have options for low end, high end, more run time and good all around power, etc.

If it were me, I'd pick up a fresh used Mugen MTX4R to get back in. Then after 6 months or so, if I really wanted to stick with it, the new Mugen should be out. Mugens are high quality, always fast out of the box, and easy to get parts for. Plus, the parts prices aren't going to break the bank.

thanks guys, I did have a mugen mtx-2 back in the day, and i have a old yokomo something now, but its a shelf queen and won't be run. might have to think about another mugen or maybe a xray
