Just like HPI... had Novarossi based motors.

Rossi and sirio are both totally different.

The sirio carb is the bane of those engines, for sure.

the new HPI engine(12XR? or something like that) is supposivley a novarossi based engine as well...

whats wrong with the sirio carbs.?

allens one seems to be doing fine, or did he put a novarossi carb. on it?

The new HPI is an STS engine, which is a copy of the Nova Rossi RS12

Ok...so we all know which engines are NOVA based...

If you had to have a NON nova based ROAR legal motor, which one would you go with...

The OS TR is great in my tc3..bit I don't think it would be fast enough for my new R40....(unless you've had it in a belt car,so tell me what you think)..

Stafan..thats great news about the HPI motor...

Anyone seen that one run yet....or should I try a STS motor..?

As far as Sirio....ALOT of people like that motor..and just as many hate the damn thing cause of the carb..

How about the ROSSI pixies?...any feedback?

Any other opinions...

Also,if you notice my thread on the stuck carb in the RB motor....

a few people have had the same problem....ONLY with RB's..not other NOVA motors....Has that happened with your NOVA motors also?...

Thanks guys...

NEW engine from HPI is based on the STS MT12 model, so is an STS, see for yourself some photos from STS and Dino can attest here.

Sirio carbs are crappy due to their Metal/Plastic construction, metal with the continuous heating/cooling cycles stretch the plastic molding and then the carb is junk. Sirio engine with a Nova carb is just bulletproof.

O...so sirio is out..I'm certainly not going to spend extra for a NOVAcarb, when I hate the carbs on my RB....

Corse..have you seen the new HPI motor run?......

also, how about that new STS version...the motor with the big silver head....?

It looking more like I'll be using an OS turbo for non roar....

just need a legal 3 port....

We have a couple of STS engines at our track and they are just as fast as the Nova based engines (how could they not be, they are copies )

I had a STS .15 in my Impact and it was a great engine.

Also spare parts are dirt cheap AND they fit in the Nova engines.

I would buy a STS before I buy an HPI, simply because I'm sure HPI is gonna jack up the price for theirs considerably.

Sirio's can be very strong engines with a Nova carb, but they are off limits in my book because they are imported by Trinity.
If I wanted a Sirio, then from Hong Kong.

Picco engines (Ofna, Omega) can be very fast, but again they need a Nova carb. Their quality control seems to be not the best out there so make sure you check the engine before firing them up. Oh, and did I mention to stay away from the Trinity imported Piccos?

Rossi: Totally overprized piece of junk with a fancy head on it and they are imported by Trinity. Nuff said?

If you have now a Nova carb, what's the problem of fitting on a Sirio? On mine engines I go swapping the carb from one to another, just only needed to find a good carb and stick with it, no matter of the engine I'll use (probably will love if they will sale engines without carbs).

Nope, haven't seen the HPI engine, but got an RS3 (2002 version) that went very fine and I'm awaiting for a very near STS engine launch (shhh! cannot tell you more), probably if I give more info, some people will get angry with me, but the looks are really good.
