trashcar:

I will PM him and see whether he can point me to the right pipe.

RS:

I agree as far as donuts go. It's sounds and probably is a messy job, so as long as they tires at reasonable price I will keep using them.

Thanks

I tried to PM motorman, but no luck so far.

RookieSolara, what pipes have you been using on your SX15s?

Thanks

I did contact RDLogics and they actually just replied that the pipe they recommend is

I would be interested to hear what other have been or were running with SX15.

Thanks

I KNOW the 235mm cars are a dead class, just about everywhere, but I really want a Serpent 835. I know, I'm stupid. Someone please talk some sense into me.

Default 835

I'll talk sense, buy it,great car can pick them up for great pricing.Fun to drive, inexpensive to maintain, fast.Very easy to setup, very forgiving to drive and if you wish to race,ROAR 1/10 outlaw will give you a place to race it.If there is no outlaw class in your area they will run well with 1/8 scale, the shorter the track the better.

2 days ago....I fired up my Impact (not even the 835) after the race is finished....ran 2 full 5 minutes tank, with 4 differnet drivers.....because they all want to feel the FUN about the 235mm....
Here is my Impact spec.........almost 1 year without touching, still have dust all over it......some used old foams for more then 12 months, about 58mm rear and 50mm front left, no idea about the shores, SX-15 is MS 3 port just broken it set at 3T high end and 3T low-end without even leaning it....pipe is a 3 years old RB X15 pipe, no body, no front body mount....no time to paint body................setup is EYE BALLED......very much sure all 4 corners are different.

ALL OF US drove the impact like ON RAIL.........car without body STILL can get hook up wiht a hair of drift......and all of us drove the car almost as fast as our fully tuned TC cars like 710 and NTC3....2 of the driver though my IMPACT was 1/8th....and now, they are looking on EBAY for a used one.

I can tell you, if you can find 1 with enigne/pipe for less then $300.......try it, you will love it........but if you want ppl to get back to 235mm, hardly.

I bought mine on e-bay, both as new in box from private sellers so I suppose I got lucky.

kit - USD 350
Novamega SX 15, 3 port - USD 180

Good luck.

Ok, thanks. I found a place selling them NIB for $399, so I just wanted to see what ballpark that was in.

Thumbs up

Ok, so oddly enough, over a year later, I finally found and bought an 835. <happy dance> Nice car—lightly used, if at all, Murnan RB X15, new tires, new body, spares, Centax II, bunch of spares, the works... I'm thrilled. I think I'm going to have to put St. Louis on the schedule next year.

I'm really looking forward to getting this car running.

Two quickies... what size tires are a good place to start, and who carries Hudy/Integy truer adapters for the wheels?

if i recall, we used to run a 4mm split on the 4wd Impact, and a 4 to 6mm split on the 2wd Impact. my old impact setups are posted on mytsn (do a search under members using my name and then click on setups), these should be good enough for the 835.

When you got enough bottom (gear 15/50) you can run tires straight out of the box.
Real Race modus: 68/63 or 64
I prefer a harder shore on the fronts, you will get a better balanced car.
Depending on the track also a harder spring in the front.
