What anybody's take on a stiffer upper deck on the mtx4....what would be the downfalls?

I really think a stiffer upperdeck would be great. Can't think of any drawbacks. The stock upperdeck in my opinion is a little too soft.

I did on my mtx3 ( double upper deck ).

the effect is more understeer especially off power.

I think it could use to be a little thicker. I feel like I am going to break it every time I put the pipe hangar on and tighten the setscrew. It tweaks pretty bad.

I have been racing 1/12th scale to long this winter. My new car has been together at new years and I was finally able to run it today out in front of my house.OH MY G** this thing is stupid fast with this modded X12 and just stock gearing. I think that when I drive to the races this Sunday I am going to have a woody all the way there. As you can tell I am glad that nitro season is back.

Not that this is your case but I have heard of a lot of MTX-4 users stripping gears but I still haven't had one go yet. The car has been in 3 races plus practise days and I'm still using the same gears I got when I bought the car. On the other hand . . . with the 710, stripping of the pinion gear would happen when the spur gear was changed to 16T. It was very common among 710 users using aluminium 16T gears. When they used steel, there was no stripping.

I guess if someone had the problem either stick with the stock spur (17/23) and change the pinions for better gearing or go with steel spur gears.

Hi, I bought Kawahara foams and i'm wondering which is the better rim.

The Star rim or the regular 6 spoke?

The 6spoke is more often seen, but Kawahara is known for its high quality, their rims hold very well even after crashing and rarely deform, so which ever you pick should be just fine.

The 6 spoke blade rim is more durable. Obviously, the foams are the same. I've used the regular star rim 3 years ago and the rim bent fairly easily.

I purchased the star rim.

5 sets/10 pairs for $40, not bad

Hopefully it's not too brittle.

Well guys, gave my car two tanks but had to stop due to radio spektrum glitching (my fault, not spektrum's). Im currently running 0.4mm bell clearence with 9mm spring adjusted. Clutch bell has been shimmed from the inside to make a total of 0.01~0.03mm. I also used the steel stock gearing (didn't realize 16/22 wasnt stock) with a lightweight clutch bell and yellow clutch shoe. I can barely believe of how fast the engine was going on the straight and in and out of turns.
