As stated above I am using the Exotek wing mount and wing buttons. Quality, function and pretty bling.

Sorry for the dumb question here but i'm new to the 1/10th electric buggy world I run 1/8 nitro and just got a D413 to race at a new indoor track that's going in here locally.
I've been looking at motors and ESC's and don't really know what to go with I was looking at going with one of the castle combo kits but i don't really know which one to choose. Any have any ideas of what else i should run? I'm not a pro level driver heck i'm not even a good novice driver to be honest i suck! I have fun though I just want to make sure that if i do want some power i can have it.

my recommendations for ESC would be hobby wing. or LRP. depending on budget.
smc has a good inexpensive hight spec ESC too. personally i run the orion10.1 in my D413. motors you can really go wrong with most brands.

With the addition of the Exotek spring perches and the HB shock caps I decided it was time to add a few more goodies. I keep a few sets of a arms on hand so I ordered the carbon inserts, gold and yellow HB springs and VRP "X Pistons." I also fit her up with the RC Shox Ackerman, looking forward to seein the differences from these changes.

I'm going to glue my inserts, it looks like TY runs glued inserts almost exclusively.

Also thinking about a Tenshock x211 6.5 4 pole, they're on sale for $45 and I'm tempted, anybody run one yet?

In other news my charger and power supply showed up today! Hitec 30a w/ Hitec X2 ultima. I don't dharge above 10 amps so this combo should be just right.

Maybe a little bit offtopic..but does it make more sense to buy a 1:10th scale HB D413 or to convert a 1:8th HB D812 to electric? Hometrack is med. size & designed for 1:8th

They are entirely two different cars, so it depends on what you want to race and the type of turn out at your track for the class. In the end both will cost some coin for finish product, it mainly depends on what you want to race.

I race both 1/10 4w Buggy and 1/8 E-buggy on both 1/8 sized tracks and also 1/10 sized medium tracks.

As for ESC I would get the HW 120A V2.1 (its about $80) and then would go with a HW Motor or a SMC Motor ($65 to $80).

As for motor turn or size, I would recommend getting a 7.5T, since new to 4w Buggy. It has plenty of grunt for most sized tracks. I run one in mine and works good when I go to bigger tracks as well.

I switched to the sworks wing early on for their durability. I have been running the same one I started with and after 3 race days and 3 practice days it is as good as new. I am upside down more than I like to admit also. This is that wing.

Question. The butons are on top, so obviously the mounts are in the normal position. But it looks like the wing is in the low position with the mounts flipped. Is this just the design of the wing?

A 7.5 is probably a bit much for someone starting out in 4wd buggy when they openly admit they are a novice.

That's the way the sworks wing is shaped. The picture exagerates it a little but it does sit pretty low. The shock tower ends do stick out above the level of the wing.
