Yes another one of those threads.

I think it is a Mugen MTX-4, am I right?

I am really looking to unload this right now as I am focusing on my off-road vehicles. What is something like this worth? I know when I built it, it had all of the best stuff....but I assume it isn't worth much now.

What would be the best way to sell it? Ebay?

Thanks in advance!

MTX-4 and Mtx-4R are the latest models, it looks like and old MTX-2, the MTX-3 has the fuel tank on the side like this one but the MTX-3 has the belt system like the 4 and the 3 has also rear stabilizer bar.

So would this car be worth anything? Or is it too dated to get any value selling?

Thanks for the response. Maybe if I look around enough I can find the original box.

You say you built it, but dont know what it is?
It is definatley Not an MTX4
Looks like it may be a Mugen MTx2. If that is the case, it has to be close to 10 years old. They came out with the MTX2, MTX3, MTX4, MTX4R, so it is pretty old as far as RC cars go

Yeah I built it probably around 2001 and I haven't run it since probably 2002. So yeah, I don't remember the specifics. I have five different R/C cars that were all sitting in storage all that time.

I did a search for images of the MTX-2 and I do think this is the right model. The pictures seem to match.

Thanks!

What would be the rough value of the car with the servos and receiver included (but no radio)? Could I get $100 for something like this? I don't want to waste time selling it if it is only worth $50.

Thanks again for all the help! I am trying to get back into the hobby after 8+ years, so it may take me a while to figure it all out.

I am pretty sure it is the MTX-2, I found this "official" picture of one and they look identical to me other than mine has black rims.

Definitely MTX-2. If you want to sell it, someone would buy it. There are a few people still running them and since parts are hard to come by, they just buy cheap, used rollers for parts. Not worth much though.

As one of the first, true racing TC's it might be worth hanging on to as a future collectors item. Especially since it looks like it has the original Mugen rear exhaust motor too.

Don't throw them out. Guys are still running older BMS dirt oval cars that use a lot of MTX-2 rear end parts. Newer BMS cars have gone to MTX-3 or 4 parts but there are still plenty of older ones around.
