I just got a new Mugen MBX6 and need a steering servo. I have an Airtronics 94757 Competition High Torque Servo 92/115 oz-in 0.09/0.07 sec
@ 60 deg Coreless with Metal Gears.

Will this be sufficient for my buggy or do I need to look into something better?

check out the ACE 1015 servo....right at 200 oz. and right at .10 sec. i believe

i run it as my steering servo on my D8 and it is great....no problems so far

yes they are a good servo but be sure to put a silicone seal where the cases meet this will stop any liquid ie water, lubricant etc getting into your servo which will more than likely cause the servo to stop working.

115oz should be sufficient but perhaps a little soft. I have had good luck with a Futaba BLS451 @ 147oz. If the servo won't turn the wheels lock to lock on a grippy surface (carpet for instance) then you should go with a stronger servo, otherwise it won't hold on high speed turns and will probably fail soon.

I run a Futaba BLS352 in my MBX6 and 6T and have had great luck with it. Futaba's been around a while and their products are very durable. Run what you have now but be eyeing something else just in case.

I've always had good luck with the Ace/AE 1015's. Not so much luck with their 1313's. I've never had an issue with water contamination. They have rubber seals between the 3 parts of the case already installed. I have just recently starting using Savox servos and I'm really impressed with them. I run the 1256TG's. Like others said, the one you have will work but may be a little soft.

servos dont last forever doesnt matter what brand, hitech's customer service is one of the best!

savox 1258 i have them for 2 year and 20+races now and you can get align 610 same as 1258 but cheaper.....

(NEw) give the savox servos a whirl very good comments and I haven't heard of any issues.

(Used) would be the Hitec 7955 you can get one on this site for 75 bucks shipped they will last forever promise.

Order a nice metal servo horn and something else to get your order over 100$ and your only paying 80$ for it.

It's a hitech rebadged. I think the only difference between it and the 7955 is that the hobbico isn't programable.

It's not the fastest one, but it says it's strong and .06 of a second couldn't hardly be noticable, and the price looks right.

I really don't know why people don't suggest rebadged servos more. They are the same thing as the name brands but for a much better price.

I've had the same expierance with the Ace/AE servos, 1015's awesome, 1313's not so much. I'm also giving the Savox sevos a try next season.
