Not to sonud like an Ahole or anything....but you must have been really sheltered as a kid....looking at your computer monitor can giv you cancer..as well as cell phones...and new and developing reaserch even sugests that ciggeretes can be harmful.... Everything that is plastic has dangerous chemicals in it (very deadly stuff...im not even joking) Did you know that the FDA (food and drug administration) allows So much rat Sh*t to be in food up to a certin number?? the bigmac you had for lunch is worse than the RC cars.... Besides.. did you know that 99% of all people who die have ate a carrot sometime during there life....

Well, we all scared that rookie away from the hobby. Congratulations. We don't need any more people in this hobby anyway, do we? That may just lead to lower prices and more people at the track, and who wants that?
My understanding of that label is it usually goes on products that contain lead. Solder usually contains lead (US manufacturers probably use or soon will be using no-lead solder to avoid disposal and regulation issues), so if a printed circuit board inside the receiver or servo or whatever has lead solder, then the label gets slapped on the product. As long as you are not eating the printed circuit boards, you should be OK.
Solder fumes, traction compounds, lubricants, motor cleaner - all that stuff probably can't be good for any of us, so I'd be careful around it (wash your hands before you eat, etc.). But I haven't heard of the RC hobby causing cancer anymore than any other daily activities.

basically if a product contains a dangerous chemical it should have a warning, BUT just because it contains the chemical/substance doesnt mean its dangerous. I could swallow a spoonful of cyanide and it would kill me, but if it was inside a glass marble then I should be just fine. since a lot of stuff that is sold in stores is/can be abused by consumers in a way that would release the chemicals then in needs a warning no matter if the chemical is easily accessible in an untampered with products. Another example is the a lipo battery. A lipo battery is perfectly safe when its new, but if you put a nail in it then it catches on fire.
So to sum it up, just because there is something that COULD be dangerous in a product doesnt mean it IS dangerous, but the warning is there just in case. DONT EAT YOUR BATTERIES OR RC CAR.

The number of things that you encounter every day with that "state of california" warning is probably close to 100. California is the most liberal state when it comes to stuff like this, look at CARB, etc. They put the warning on any products that technically contain carcinogens; BUT as most people have said, you'd have to eat the RC car to actually get any of these carcinogens in you, and most likely they're in such low quantity even if you did want to eat your RC car you'd be fine anyway (carcinogen wise, not like stomach-health wise, haha).
Extremely not worth worrying about, especially if you follow some basic guidelines such as don't eat your RC car, don't drink any shock oil, wash your hands after touching any oils/fuels/electronics. If it was actually dangerous, California (and other states) wouldn't let it be sold at all. There's many other things in this world that are actually more dangerous and worth being careful about.
If you really really want to worry every day, technically oxygen is carcinogenic, so... enjoy.

They had to print that warning because the lable its printed on is known in the state of california to cause cancer. just take it off and your good to go.
