Talking Having a tough time calculating rollout.

Hey guys i am stuck trying to figure out roll out for my sedan. I have tried several website calculators for gear ratios and rollouts, to be honest i am screwing somthing up. When ever i put in my tire dia in mm ie 60 mm the gear ratio seems way off. Or should it be 60 divided by 2 which give me 30mm.

This is the kicker, as i change my pinion size to a smaller one the rollout gets smaller and smaller?

Well heres the deal

I am running an 8x2 epic flat wire arm in a V2 Marc R can
Pinion size is 22
Spur is 100
Tc3 internal ratio is 2.5

Need to find the rollout ..

Thanks, its pretty sad i have been racing for 7 years and its my first time running foams.

your roll out is 16.59
Go to gearchart.com and click on gearchart creator and then select the right car and enter you info.

the roll out equates to how far your car will move with one revolution on your motor. In your case, 16.59 mm per rotation. So, one less tooth one the pionion would cause the rollout to decrease, a tooth smaller on the spur will make it increase.

shoot me an email (kaybo) and I can send you an Excel file with the formula to print and keep with you or, plug the numbers into the worksheet an it will calculate everything for you...

BTW, this can tell you what you are rolling out at as well as tell you what pinion you need to run a certain roll-out
