Races are won and lost in corners it seems. I hope to get some video of my driving soon, but I always watch others drive to see their lines, but what I can't seem to figure out it, how do these guys make such tight turns?

I got a Truggy (8T 2) and I upgraded the steering servo to a Hitech with like 400oz torque, so I should have the equipment to do it. I just can't figure out how these guys land off a jump, almost come to a complete stop and then turn 180 degrees without getting farther that 6-8" away from the pipe.

If anyone has any tips please post them.

Don't blip the throttle until you've gone through the turn. I see sooooo many people do it and push the cars wide.

Interesting... I think from time to time i do this because i break so much that i am almost coming to a stop. maybe i need to not break as much or adjust the travel on my brake setup.

i do the same thing! trick is to go into the corner fast without throttle, make your turn and nail it. i do it more on the truggy than buggy but is a hard bad habit to break

Best advice anyone can give you is to slow down to go fast!

A lot of it has to do with Brake set up and how the buggy are truggy is set up with diff oils.

setting up for corner. So people come in to fast and over shoot and try to get back on the throttle to early.

This is what I do. I just recently switched to left hand throttle control and will be getting glasses, maybe these will help me. if Racing season ever starts here.

I take the turn just a split second to early, so I end up with one wheel getting caught on the pipe. 9 times out of ten this ends with me turtling the car.

I'm working on this and getting better.

It helps to let off the throtle a bit early and or use the brakes a bit earlier too, then you can make the turn on the inside, and get back on the throttle earlier...

Thanks for the advice. I will look at adjusting my brakes a little to see if I can roll in a little faster so I won't have to get back on the throttle until I am around the corner and making my exit.

I hope to have a buddy shoot some video next time because what I think I am doing may not actually be what I am doing. I remember my days from back in motocross arguing with my dad over something he swore I was doing and I was dead set I wasn't....... Well, when he pulled the tape - he was right

Taping your driving is one of the best things you can do to help find out wear you are having troubles. I watch videos of my races all the time and it help me see wear i am fast and wear i need work.

IMO I like to stay about 3-4 feet away frpom the pipe, my bad habit is clipping the pipe and flipping over and losing 5-6 seconds on my race.

But if you really want to hug the pipe, it just takes practice, and not blippin the throttle in the corners.
and kinda just letttin the car turn with the momentum until you are out of the corner.
