There is going to be Off-Road Racing Friday Nights at Family Hobbies in Santee, CA
Cost is $10 per class, racing starts about 7pm there are pit tables, lights, electrical.

Use Step Pin tires, and gear down.
There are Truck and buggy classes, only electric and you need a AMB Transponder to race.

Hope there's enough guys for a 4wd class. The track is so loose, that 4wd would be perfect and add another intersting class. Also, maybe stock buggy too.

4wd is a lot of fun to race, but pretty easy to drive, takes some of the challenge out.

If you guys want the track to be hooked up, pick up some brooms and sweep it off before watering, you could propably run holeshots if it was swept.

Last Friday night myself and another person sweeped the track off before watering. After that I did a deep watering. I am not sure it hooked the track up. You can run holeshots if you want, I am going to run Step Pins.

I want to run stock buggy this Friday night, I will be there early to sweep the track and to water.

The guys swept the track for me to get some feedback a couple weeks ago before anyone was there, and it was way dialed. If it is swept well the traction will come way up.

Sweeping would be great. Watering helps, but doesn't solve it, it just makes for wet loose dirt to clog the tires and collect in the berms. I'm sure if everyone knew, a lot of people would volunteer to help before racing started.

That is correct edseb.

You are right. The dirt at Family Hobbies is just too soft to get it to hook up good. But that is OK with me. I am very happy with the track. Go to SoCal if you want a track that is very loose at race time. SoCal track at race time turns white hard with a sandy surface, and I don't have to tell you what that means.

I love racing at Family Hobby. to me it is better than SoCal.

Yeah, but if it gets swept, its not that bad. It won't ever be like SoCal, but that is O kay. They are totally different tracks and draw a different crowd. I just think there is room for improvement and I don't think it would be much work cause most guys racing would want to help to improve it in that way.

I have had a bad time here in the Nitro world so I'm selling it

My pick is a XXXT MFE, which I'm gunna put a Novak Explorer II and a P2K2pro and run stock with youguys!

I'll be in the novice class of course, and I garuntee I'll need some of youguys to help me out!

is there anyone out there running a XXXT thats found a good setup?

Also are they renting out Transponders yet? (cant afford one at the moment)

P.S. off topic but Randy how did you change your Screen Name?

This forum was a temp forum. Please go to our regular forum at
the Racing/Family Hobbies Off-Road.

I would start for the XXXT at a 90 spur with a 17t pinion for a P2K type motor. I would not go with a high motor like the monster pro. You need a high tor motor. Everything else stock.

Use step pins or lug nuts rear tires. You will need a transponder. I am not sure if Scott is renting them or what, you can call him at 619-448-6847.

We all have a great time racing on Friday nights. Racing starts about 7pm and cost $10.

Hi Chris,

I am the one that got beat up last Friday night. My car was just not working. Hope to see you tonight. I may just run mod buggy if not enough people in stock.
