For those running 100,000wt in their center diffs, did you try 500,000 already or did you start at 100,000 and like it so never went higher? Just wondering about the difference between the two weights.

Looks like the steel gears are sintered, which is what Durango used in the early version of their 410 until they replaced them in later versions due to chipped teeth with machined ones.

My local track (RC Excitement) just did a new supercross layout for a big Tekin Supercross trophy race next week, and it definitely suits my style, as it is more like what I build on my own outdoor track, big jumps and tricky rythms. It's gonna be a fun couple months there! Still have a few feet of snow on my track, slowly but surely it's melting. We broke the all time snowfall record in the Boston area this winter with 108.6", can't wait for outdoor and 1/8!
Hey Kevin,
I'll be down there tomorrow for the race with my xb4 for the weekend. You going to be doing the tekin race? Where's your outdoor track at? I like having options to race.

That sucks if the gears are weak. I've been running the ball diffs only ran gear one race day. I'm sure if the gears are a problem xray will figure it out.

Part of the reason Durango brought out the machined gears was due to a change to a different (cheaper) set of std gears, the ones that came in the early kits in '09 were much better then the later ones, mine still has the original ones in it today.

The early crown gears had little blocks on that locked into the diff moulding.

As for XRAY, I've not heard anything about anyone having problems with the steel gears here in the UK on high grip Astro tracks, mine are still waiting to be fitted before I find out for myself.

spoke to a fellow racer today and he told me he tried 50,000wt in the centre diff and didn't like it , then he tried
20,000wt and liked it a lot better on a dusty loose small-med size track with low grip.It might be personal preference but I'm definitely going to try 20,000wt this
sat at the local club day.
At the last meet it was my first time wheeling the 15 with shorty configuration and box clay set up ,new tyres every
heat ,but my diffs weights were 6-100-5 . It felt like the
buggy really lacked rear traction and wanted to step out
a lot.
I made changes every race and ended up with 30wt losi
front shock oil 25wt in the rear ,6-100-3 in the diffs, longer rear camber link.
The buggy was a lot better but couldn't push it hard i had to nurse it round a bit.
All the other xb4s were using saddles and they looked a lot more planted.
Will play with front kick up and rear anti squat settings this
sat ,might even try using the slipper see if that helps and
ill let you guys know what i think of dropping centre diff fluid down to 20,000.
Here is a vid of my 15 at my local track qualified second
ended up 2nd.
[says I'm running a schumacher but its not my buggy has white at the front and black at the back ,had a good dual for the first half of the race]

Anyone running 30 wt shock oil? I wanted to go a little thinner since our track has lots of little imperfections so I went with 30wt. I haven't tried it on the track yet but it seems real soft on the bench.

Saddles work better in my experience on anything less than med bite. Especially if you're running gear diffs. The ball diffs help if you're running shorty on low bite.

I busted a couple of rear 14t metal gears on my 15 so I ended up shimming the gear with some Kyosho shims in front of the bearing so I will report and see if this fixed the problem.

Tried 60k, thought it was too light, gave the car a real mushy feeling even with the 6.5...

Hey guys just got my 14 XB4 about a month ago have raced it a handful of times so far and love it. Just wondering though what would be some parts that I should keep extra's of and what would be some good things to update to from the 15 model to my 14 model? I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks guys

I don't think they changed the arms for the '15 car, so yes they will fit.
