Default team durango DESC210 issue

Hi,

just bought a DESC210 RTR and tried it for the first time and encountered an issue.

Every few minutes (I think it was after a fast turn or sudden break) the car went into a mode where it started going very very slow, even with full throttle.
switching it off and back on solved the problem and it came back to normal and worked fine again.
This happened several times during the first 20 min test-drive of the car.

I am new to this hobby, so please let me know if this is a malfunction or it may be that I am missing something here.

Thanks,
Gilad

Does sound like it could possibly be the low voltage cut off.
Did you notice a blinking red led at all?

the user manual says:
"The Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) detects the type of battery fitted, the LiPo low voltage cut-off (LVC) is set at 3.5v per cell, this prevents the battery voltage dropping too low and causing damage. When the LVC is activated the car will reduce power. Stop as soon as is possible and recharge the battery."

I understand from that the ESC automatically detects the type of battery.
I am using a non-Lipo battery (Nicd 1800mAh), so I think LVC mode is not supposed to be activated.

should there be a manual setting to LVC mode anyway?
