Nice article, I think we can have fun adding to that, if you don't mind. I keep getting bombarded by newbie questions, I try to be helpful, polite, but tactful.

1- How fast does it go?
That fast (point to the track), weren't you paying attention?

2- How much does it cost?
$300 for a Slash class ride plus extras. $500 with a decent charger/battery/radio/parts. $2000 for a 1/8th nitro ride with decent support gear. There is no cheap in 1/8th.

3- Is this a real engine?
Yup

4- Can I drive it?
Sure, but I only accept cash. $200 for my Slash. $2000 for my nitrobuggy.

5- Where did you buy it?
SCT/Slash class=hobby shop, everything else you better research youself and figure out for yourself what works best and where to get it. It'll be easier to see that after a few race days in slash class as you get to see the other classes run and what works.

6- Does it break easily?
Yes. Esc's poof for no reason, race machines need constant maintenance like real racing machines. Building is still the main part of the hobby.

7- What’s the best, Nitro or Electric?
Electric Slash for starters. electric for indoor winters. Nitro for real racing outdoors.

8- RTR or kit?
Kit. You have to learn to spin wrenches sooner or later. RTR's just prolong newbie pain. you have to tear down and rebuild it after nearly every raceday anyways.

9- Is there a beginner class.
Sometimes theres a slow racer class so slow racers can say they won a slow racer race. You'll be better off accepting your not going to win squat till you put in the wrench time and wheel time required to climb the ladder. And enter Stock Slash/SCT or a stock motor class.

10- Why is that guy on the stand wearing a cape?
Weird hobbies/sports attract weird people or fun drivers have to be extra fun to make up for the grumps.

11.- Whats with the Goof Off, Simple Green, and TAG body spray?
Tire Treatments that are way less costly than buggy grip.

12.- Why are all the truggy racers haveing glitching problems?
Radios fine, truggy racers like to drive seizure style and crash alot.

13. -Will this motor make me faster?
No, it'll make you crash. Have you even won a stock race yet?

14. -Did that guy just drink nitro?
Yes

15.- how do I get faster?
Can't learn to drive fast until you learn not to crash.

16.- do you get to keep the trophy girl?
No, wait......kid, how old r you?

17. Will I be able to find a pit guy for my first nitro race?
Doubt it. Thats why nitro is dieing in some areas.

18. Whats in your trailer?
snakes, poisenous snakes.

19.- How do i set my throttle linkage?
I keep a photocopy of the linkage setup page of an Rc8 manual. I'm tired of explaining it and the Ae instructions get the idea across for most cars now.

20.- How do I adjust my epa?
RTB! It's a $300 computer radio and you didn't RTB?!

21. Why do electric races only have 7 min mains?
They're scared of 15 min mains

22.- why do nitro races have only 15min A mainsinstead of 30?
Pure gayness and sissy turn marshals. Sometimes to let the flashlights play with the big boys to.

Now Fuzzy absolutely HAS seen me drive. (I think maybe that's where this quote comes from.)

I love truggy... pipes aren't barriers around the lanes... they're just "route suggestions."
