This is where the racers and the tracks need to step up their game and maintain a strict tire rule. I can EASILY see racers trying to go faster by using buggy wheels/tires. And it would be very easy for a track operator to let a customer who shows up with an SC with and buggy tires run anyway rather than risk losing him as a customer. I'd even make the drivers use roll cage.
If I made the rules, I would have a "production" class where the truck is run as is out of the box (including on board radio gear) and a "pro" class where you can change the engine, radio gear, etc. But both classes would have to run the stock body, cage, and tires/wheels.

Count me in, as my series will be doing just that. Same way we are doing so with the Slash vehicles.
Although I cant speak with any certainty, I am sure many of the other Series organizers like JBRL, or JConcepts Clash will do the same. At least that is the direction they have taken and maintained with the Slash to date.
Can't wait.

what size wheels does it use? are they standard buggy wheels and tires? definately want one of these.

Basically they are standard buggy wheels, but with a smaller outer diameter for a more scale look. You can't use SC8 tires on standard buggy wheels or standard buggy tires on SC8 wheels. But you can bolt on a standard buggy/wheel combination. But why would you want to

Hey AE...how's about a kit with no radio, motor, starter....etc...?????.......i agree with above, BLOCK TIRES only!!!!!........time to start savin..........

I'm sure a kit will come shortly...
Now Rick, if only you and the rest of the A-Team could've "sabotaged" the SC8's hub and axle design so it couldn't use buggy gear. ~sigh~

I saw the SC8 at the electric Nats.........it is soo sick.
I agree with sticking with the kit tires. The ones that were on the vehicle I saw were actually pretty nice. Rubber was soft. Nice thing about the block design of the tire is like in the real CORR racing, you can do some trimming of the tread to enhance grip either in front or in rear.

I bought a Slayer but plan on picking up one of the AEs as well. I wonder if they are in the same scale size?

Just look at it this way with the SC8 is like Pro2 or Pro4.
The slash is like Prolite in the CORR series. Lower tech, smaller and less horsepower, but there is still a big popular class for them.
I can't wait to get an SC8. This is what truck racing should have been from the beginning instead of the monster trucks. We used to race a heavy metal class that was either 2whl or 4whl with a truck body on it. I hope there is room for everyone to race and have fun.

I think later they will come out with a kit only.At first I was hoping for a more scale looking chassis, was dis appointed to hear it had the SC8 chassis until I saw it with the roll cage. I think for now they want to concentrate on the new guy. New r/c guys love gas cars, check out the nice radio. Most of us racers have our own radio. It would be a waist for some(me). I will try to hold out for a kit myself. If I can help it???? Just motor and radio equipment but leave all other stuff stock. Nice change for our hobby. Maybe in ayear from now, some CORR Nats!!!!!!!
