They have been designing the AE 8th scale buggy way before Losi even thought about making one.

designing something "different" doesn't necessarily mean it's better. in fact it could end up worse. it's just different.

New things are coming out and it is still a prototype so they may change a few things to try to keep it up to date and better than whatever else is out there.

I'm not bashing the car(there is enough of that going on with every other car) we haven't even seen it yet. In time im sure it will prove to be a good car and on par with whats currently available.

It will be great for the BIG 2 US guys selling cars in this class. 1:8th buggy will no doubt blow up even more and bring the "on the fence" electric guys in to the mix.

Lets see whatcha got Kdub

yet another class we can go at it with

Well,

I for one am an electric guy and will be joining the 1/8th scale ranks next year. I am updating my SP1 into a SP2WC over the winter. I will also pick up the new AE ride when it comes out.

Kdub,

Any more inside news or a spy shot from a far off distance????

Thanks

Hmm, 1/8 buggy? AE tried to make a truck that would dominate the monster truck. Turned out to be a big flop.

But I wonder where they are going with this one... and how much it could and will hurt TTR sales (assuming its better)

Kemo,

I am not sure if I agree with the Monster truck being a flop. They did sell a good bit of kit and people do still run them and there have been improvements. I think the Monster Truck Class went by the waste side and along came the truggy. I see more Truggy these days then I do Monster trucks.

i've been traveling, and have asked hobbyshops why they stock absolutely NO AE monsters, and their reasoning is that they simply dont sell.

In fact, the ONLY AE products at our shops are the 18's and 10gt.

Headline News : Associated Coming sooon!
Posted by Philip M on 2006/9/8 15:11:00

So last week Associated's general manager Cliff Lett, appeared on RC's premiere Radio show - RC Racin' Radio.
After Maifield let the word out; Cliff Lett confirmed that Associated are making a 1/8 Buggy. The one and only Doc Love interviewed Cliff; however he kept quiet on any definite release date, but said "You won't have to wait 2 years" (referring to the 2008 Worlds).

We expect that at best we may see some pics before December; and maybe even see Saxton and Maifield attending the Neo Invitational Race with the Associated car....

"We have a few reports that Associated's buggy will feature the C-Hub design, although at this point can't really confirm it!
Testing continues in SoCal at this stage a prototype, with the aim of introduction for the 2007 season.
