What is you Driving style?

The 8mm is still pretty wide open. At 7mm is where it really starts to tame it down. The best set-up I found to smooth out the V-Spec was a IRDC 7mm venturi and the EB mods pipe.
I use a JX Ninja 7mm restrictor and 2060 pipe in my buggy and can do 10 minute pit stops no problem now.

I dont know where to get one in the UK as I am in the USA but this is the one I am talking about using in the V-Spec. Unfortunately when I sold the V-Spec I forgot to remove it.
The one I use in my Ninja is the 7mm one that comes with the Speed engine. Its a red aluminum one. The new version of the JX Ninja the BO1A comes with the same 7mm aluminum one but its the gray Mugen color instead of red.

Can someone explain exactly what a restrictor does? Also do you guys think I should have one in my grp not-tuned buggy engine? I am a beginner and never have raced 1/8 yet so all help would be great.
#21
It limits the amount of air entering the engine and slows it down and increases mileage.
#22
So do you think, the Venturi's that fit the Ninja will fit the 21J carb??
#23
ok so I think I would like to have one around just in case sowhat size is sort of a good starting point? 7mm
#24
Yes I think all the OS carbs use the same size.
The RB and Novarossi inserts are the same too as the first time I tried a 7mm it was a orange plastic RB insert.

I dont know a whole lot about the GRP engines as I have never owned one. I think guys using the orange head version told me a 6mm insert worked best. I just checked and GRP offers them anywhere from 5-9mm by 0.5mm.
I would check with others who run that engine though. I have been pretty much strictly OS engines for the last 3 years but will be switching to the Reedy engine when it comes out this spring.

Is there, any difference between the Jammin Hard Coated pipes and the Polished pipes.. apart from the looks.. is one stronger than the other?? ect.
#29
Yes a hard coating is a little stronger but when your talking JP pipes they are all very strong so its not a big advantage.
#30
Yea, Im getting a JP-4 soon and was wondering if there were any diffrences apart from the obvious=Looks.. ok kl..
