Running Lathe!!!!!
Hey guys I'm wondering what you use to run your lathe?
I'm thinking about buying a powersupply and a C&M Vari-Drive.

The vari drive is nice but you still need a power supply for it.

What kind of lathe?
Mine had the option of a powerbase which goes underneath the lathe and stores the 3 cell pack. I can charge it in the base and run the lathe from the base as well. It is sweet.

I run mine several ways, at the track I use a 4 cell pack, at home I use either my variable output power supply or my Turbo 35. All work fine, the only advantage to the T-35 or a varible power supply is that you can adjust the volts to see at what RPM's you get the best cut.

Another consideration......have any of you thought about the Integy dyno?
It does need a DC power source.....but....now you can dyno motors - reads amps, rpm, condition.....AND.....you can use it to power anything....as in break in motors/brushes, power a lathe, use as a power source to set up speed controls or servos in the car, etc, etc.

Joe - I wish i would have talked to you about this today... We can get Rivergate Power supplies at HobbyTown...
Just let us know.. You won't want the Novak N-Power for running a charger & a lathe...

I bought a power supply imported by Integy and it has worked flawlessly for me so far. I bought mine from Stormer Hobbies because the price was less than the Rivergates. The Rivergates are also sold by Stormer. SHE Power Supply is found in the Integy category, I have the 28A.

AIM is AOL Instant Messsanger... Do you have ICQ, MSn or anything like that? .....drop in the chat room... maybe that will work
