They do feel very notchy/coggy....feels strong. Sounded very nice and smooth on the dyno/motor checker. Surprisingly smooth and quiet sounding for how coggy they feel.

Yep quicker....
I really liked it. Was super smooth down low and had plenty of legs on the straight. I did back to back race meets and compared to the standard D4 was quicker by 2 tenths a lap on a 13.7 second lap.

I only ran timing at 45 on both motors , will raise gearing further and see if I can turn timing up I just didn't have anything higher at the time. For gearing change I went from 3.6 from the standard to 3.7 for the 1s.

Thumbs up 1/12 help please

as i don't have a motor checker....
where are you putting the timing on the end-bell for 1/12 ? Also where is the "sweet spot" for motor temps?

We run on a very short track, 50' straight with lap times of 6.5 - 7.5 seconds.
(roll-out suggestions welcome )

i have been 4th or 5th too long.... time to retire the 5 year old Sonic (used in 2wd buggy as well) ((sorry Associated... u need more POWER ))

PM me ur thoughts if you don't want to share your secrets

Ran this on a 100x48 ft. carpet track here in Canada, geared 4.0, 50 timing, could have used more gear if the infield wasn't so tight.

I was lucky enough to receive a Valentine’s day present of a SkyRC motor analyser today so ran through all the 13.5 motors in my pitbox.

Some very interesting numbers, I’ll let people draw their own conclusions on the figures. I ran the tests on various timings on both D4's.
Interesting to note the difference in sensor boards of my 2 D4’s

Motors were
D4 1S 5% certified
D4 12.5 high torque rotor and 5% certified stator
Orca XT
D3.5 5% certified

What is everyone running for timing and rollout on the 13.5 in a 1/12th scale on 1s?

Default Plug for EAMotorsports

I race 17.5 TC on a carpet track and after putting in the new D4 along with some help from EA I went .2 per lap faster on average than with my other motor. I found a FDR of around 3.8 and 55 deg on the can was close to the sweet spot.
