As most of you have heard by now the building that Thunder is located in has been sold. The sale doesn't finalize for another 3-4 weeks but this puts us right before the Southern Nats which is really disappointing for all of us here as well as everyone signed up.
The GOOD NEWS is that I have decided to open up a new place that I have found which is over twice as large (22,600sqft), has full heat and full AC. It is about 30 minutes away from where Thunder is and located in Murfreesboro, TN.
The new place will be owned by me with Robert Dirla running the races for us. There is NO WAY I could do this alone and there are several people behind the scenes helping as well to get this going. It will have a 96x48 Carpet On road track and 85x55 Carpet off road track. It will also have pits for around 150 people (eventually) with room for more to be added as needed.
The lease will be finalized in the next couple of days and all of us from Thunder will be working non stop to get the new track (all new subfloor with existing carpet) built in the next few weeks. There will be enough pits to take all the extra entries we have on the wait list as well.
For the USVTA Southern Nats the place wont be 100% complete by any means but we will have the track, drivers stand and most of the pits built. There will still need to be some work on the Offices and paint work but that will have to wait until after the race more than likely due to the short amount of time we have to get ready. Our main goal right now is to get into the building, get the necessities done so we can have our largest and best USVTA Southern Nats ever.
Myron is working on a new group of hotels as well and there are TONS of them in the area within minutes of the track. The track is located right off the interstate and food is also in abundance within a few minutes of the track.

The tables are 8x4 and have a 12in shelf over them. Still got lots to do but its coming along nicely. All painting will be done tomorrow. Lots and lots of cleaning to do over the next few days and week.
We have tables for 104 pit spots but will have tables for over flow as well if we get more bodies than that. Anyone on the fence come on....Its going to be a great event and no one will be turned away!

Most of the packs are around 5700-6005....I will not fuss over 5 mah, bit anything above that and DQ.

EA has stated he will be here all week. I know some of you are coming in on Tuesday, or even Monday. But he might not have the track open to the public.
So at the beginning of the week if you are a early bird, call pm email or text to make sure its okay 1st before just showing up. I will be there Wednesday get final setup for the event. But Im not sure beyond that.
Also the tables are done, and I will try and label them for groups that still want to sit together.
Apex Raceway has provided 100+ chairs for the pits and they are reliable and sturdy
also be ready for motor tech....VTA,GT, and F1...thats over a 160 motors...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure your motor is legal before you bring it to me or EA....it will save a ton of time. And if you are not sure....please check here and here

Also the tables are done, and I will try and label them for groups that still want to sit together.
Apex Raceway has provided 100+ chairs for the pits and they are reliable and sturdy
also be ready for motor tech....VTA,GT, and F1...thats over a 160 motors...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure your motor is legal before you bring it to me or EA....it will save a ton of time. And if you are not sure....please check here and here

If anyone is needing a VTA body, I will have a couple for sale with me at the event. I've been airbrushing a long time, so the quality is good. All Faskolor paints. The McAllister Ford Mustang is $85. The Ford numerals are painted. If you like that number, great. If not, you can cover it with your own meatball decal. Also available is a 1970 HPI Challenger with Fusion Green paint. $75. The Challenger bodies have a soft nose. That's the only downside to those. I'd like to have more available, but don't see any way to get time to paint this week. Looking forward to a fun weekend!
