Hey Guys.

Just did an old orion pack. This pack is my g/f's and about 7 months or more old.

E 3600
peak 9.23
ir:31

Disc. 2750
Ave v:7.116
IR 29

The runtime is a little down but voltage is up.

Heya Cole.

Well actually i haven't had a chance to cycle my surge cells through yst, the first pack was a 3 months old SMC pack. Its had probably 25+ runs on it now.

The second pack is a 9 month old orion pack.

Default Indi 16x5

I recently picked up an Indi 16x5 (not the v6) and I just started using it to charge up some GP 3300 6 cell packs. I noticed according to the display on the charger that they are peaking around 1500-2000mah. Is this normal..? I thought they would peak around 3500-3800mah as they did on my friend's pulsar comp? Does this happen to anyone else..? Is this normal...?

That's not normal.

Re-check your settings. Especially if you have choosed NiMh or NiCd.

Ensure they are discharged, before starting a new charge.

Also ensure they are cold before starting the charge.

The capacity tends to go away if you're not equalising the cells.

what's pissing me off about the sudden capacity drop is that i am equalizing my cells on a rayspeed tray... and its kept my cells at 3005mah for awhile, but out of nowhere it just dropped to 2800 and i am just slightly worried. since its a week into using the tray and something like this happens.

i know htis is not the right thread, but since i am posting, might as well ask, anyone know where ican get a team orion v2 revolution motor online for a cheap price and has their motors instock?

And wondering, which would would you guys pick? peak surikarn edition or the hara from team orion?

How old are the cells ? (=how many charges?)

Maintenance routine?

Rayspeed settings?

Under 60 cycle cells

rayspeed gives 2 settings on my discharger... "discharge" and "condition"
(Hope i don't have an old version or something cause its like a week old)

after i am done with my cells, give them 30 mins to cool, then rayspeed tray them, first on the "discharge" option (5a equalize), then on the "condition" setting (an 1a discharge) then normally i will hit "discharge" one more time, just to make sure all the lights go out at the same time.

then i will usually put my cells away til the next time i use them.

when i pull my cells out again, i will do a "discharge"-->"condition"-->"discharge" again, before charging the pack to full again.

Well, you shouldn't be doing a second discharge.

Condition is the final stage for the cells. They should be stored once the condition is finished.

You're probably hurting the cells by discharging a flat pack again.

Most matchers (like www.fukuyama.com) recommend to do it sligthly different:

After the race / practise session, discharge at 20 amps. Store them at this stage.

This ensure there's a little charge left in the batts.

Right before the next use, equalize them. Just use the Rayspeed at 5 amps, then at 1 amp. And nothing more !

cole: k, cause the rayspeed charger wrote something different. but when my pack dies, it dies hard, rarely a need for a 20amp discharge

sosdige: my packs aren't dead flat... just 0.9v/cell equalized.... a second discharge won't hurt it, cause if it was below the cutoff, it just won't discharge right?
