Best Chassi for Stock racing 17.5 and Mod race?

Best quallity and support?

Then go with Xray. You will regret it, if you don't, the day you break a part and got no spares.
I haven't driven a Tamiya, but as far as I hear, it drives a little bit better than Xray, but it isn't near as tough as Xray. Plus if everybody is using Xray at your track, you can get plenty of help with setups, parts and so on.

Zooberg, all of the current generation cars are very good, chances are if your asking on here, you probably won't be able to tell the difference between them. That being said, getting one that the local shop has parts for and people can help you with at the track is way more valuable than this or that being tweaked or "optimized" between brands or even year to year models.

If i were you, i would invest the money in a new set of tires, some springs, some oils and a few different sway bars.
Tr and find a setup from one of the pro guys to a track similar to yours and start with that.
Having a properly set up car would probably keep you happy considering the 416 is still one of the best chassis around.
