Yea, wait until that wallet opens again to buy the parts that actually benefit the E guys and tell me how well that ice is working
I mean, it's gonna cost a pretty penny to convert it "AGAIN". This isnt a few small changes.. This is a chassis, servo mount/tray, battery tray, shock towers, center diff mount. If i had to guess, id say around another $300 if not more.

Man anyone that didn't see this coming must be asleep at the wheel. TLR/Losi has had this pattern for a while now. The Strike went on sale and about a month or so later the xxx-sct comes out, the xxx-sct goes on sale and what do you know the 22SCT comes out, the SCTE and the 8ight nitro go on sale and.............wait for it......the SCTE 2.0 and the 8ight 3.0 come out about a month later. The 2.0 E has been on sale and since the 3.0 nitro came out you would have to have been blind not to see this coming. Wake up and smell the roses.
Looks like September 10th is the ETA for Horizon.

Looks really nice, just as most of us thought in the footsteps of the SCTE 2.0. Too bad the season will be over here when it arrives, so I won't see it in person till next year. On the bright side I will have more time to get the funds for it
Some random questions:
The camebr link positions on the towers are a bit different from the nitro brother, why?
The shorty adapter for the battery tray is a nice addition. What size packs will fit without it and without pushing the body?
According to the manual the motor mount comes with M3 screws. Does it accept M4 out of the box, or is some drilling necessary? It looks way thinner than the 2.0 mount, are they compatible?
The new radio box will finally fit my big futaba receivers comfortably, kudos!
Nitpicking: I would have posted the other side of the towers on the photos of the individual parts, the milling looks better.

bigbadbasher-- I am sorry you feel cheated. This will always happen to someone when a new car is released. If you want a car today then get what is available today. Someday there will be a 4.0. When, who exactly knows and there will be someone that feels cheated when that comes out. This is being announced about a month and a half before it will hit shelves. How much notice would have made you happy? There is no right answer to this questions as someone will always not be happy. In the mean time you have a losi buggy to play with while everyone else waits for there cars to hit the shelves. If this was announced a year ago or even 2 years ago (which some cars have been announced 2 or more years before they hit the market) what benefit of that is it to the company or the customer? You either get mad poeple that get soemthing they can play with today and enjoy or you get people that wait forever and not get to play with anything as they wait for development to happen and get the latest cool toy. Again I am sorry you are in this position but I am not sure there is a way to avoid this 100% of the time and again you have a great car already in your possetion that you get to play with today!

I have started a thread dedicated for the ground up E car and not the conversion.
I hope no one takes that the wrong way but it is what it is.
Hope to see you over there!

New products are what keep this hobby thriving and growing, don't forget that. Also, just because the 3.0 is out doesn't mean that the 2.0 all of a sudden can't keep up and is obsolete. There's always someone who is mad when something new gets released and I can sort of understand why but at the same time you shouldn't be.

I can understand going to a whole new version. I have a 2.0 but i just bought the 3.0 Nitro what, 3 weeks ago? Converted it only to find out 3 weeks later that a different chassis E version is released? They could of said we are working on an E version instead of letting all the people buy the nitro version and convert it knowing damn good and well they was about to release an E version but failed to mention that. There is a difference in needing money to keep the business and hobby alive and screwing loyal customers. Justifying it by saying "you should of known" isn't very justifiable imho.
Either way like stated above, it is only money. In the short 4 or 5 months i been in this hobby i have dropped some SERIOUS $ in this hobby (it's easy to do). I just feel shafted is all and im sure im not the only one.

That's why I didn't jump on the nitro to electric 3.0 conversion when that buggy was released, the E would be coming soon after the nitro, just like it did with the 2.0.

When you first get into this hobby you don't understand yet what are the signs of an upcoming new release.
Just like learning how to not break your new ride on the track as a beginner, part of the 'growing pains' of the hobby is knowing how to tell when new releases are coming and wait.
I say welcome to the hobby and just like your driving skills get better with time, your purchasing skills will get better with time too.
