Unless they have changed the chassis milling
The first 4mm mugen chassis I had was only milled out with 2 slots for the engine mounts to sit in .
Maybe they have changed the chassis and milled out the whole engine bay area now.

If your chassis is flat with nothing milled out it is probably the stock 3mm Mugen chassis.

I'm still looking for a 3mm kawahara chassis. I'm afraid the 4mm chassis will not fit. I have a modified top deck on my mtx4r which lowers the deck almost 3mm. I had to remove the front gas tank grommets just to make clearance so my mid pulley does not rub the tank.

Default MTX4R flywheel collet

I purchased a great condition used MTX4R and a rebuilt O.S. TZ 12 MAX motor. The only thing I am missing is the crank/flywheel collet. I have looked at Mugen parts and O.S. parts and can't seem to find a replacement collet. Can any of you assist me in trying to find one of these little buggers? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

bsmooth: mugen doesn't make a one piece...most run kawahara or skyline

pete: the manual has a part number for the collet and it comes with a new kit, but I have had issues finding one as well, I would go to mugenracing.com and go to the forums and ask Mike S

I always ran the Kyosho one piece mount when I ran the MTX4. I did also use the skyline mount which worked ok. It stripped more easily and weighed more than the Kyosho mount so I preferred the Kyosho mount. Kyosho part number VZW 065

Anyone have any luck with changing the oneway bearing in the 1st speed housing. I have Kawahara LT WT housing with a bad bearing. I have and extra stock 1st speed housing I was going to swap just the bearing.

Don't bother to open the one way bearing with home tools.

You need real pressing machinery to push the bad bearing out and insert the new one.

My friend once helped me to do such thing with home tools ( hammer, round steel, plier ), and the bearing won't come off. Infact the bearing look beaten up.
