John - when I built your car with the square brace, the middle part felt more like hard plastic than aluminum (though it looks like aluminum.)

Randy, I have two of those middle brace kits- one gray and one red. Both of them are plastic, but the black center piece is a very hard stiff plastic. Obviously the posts are aluminum. The black piece is so hard you almost can't tell it's plastic. As far as I know they have all been plastic. Don't worry, they are still a ton better than that soft P.O.S. that comes in the kit. I can't wait to see if that front "H" brace with the hole in the center is going to stiffen the car up a lot. I'm thinking it will. I also want to get my top brace countersunk like Rod suggested, but I need some more of those 3x8 C.S hexhead Ti screws like came in the kit.

I need to do the countersunk upper deck as well, just need to find a drill press. Gonna pick up the screws at Tamiya next Tuesday

P2, I've got batts for you when you get back. 1.1 w/ 430+ cuz I know your throttle control isn't too good.
EJ, We'll be flying into Sac on Oct 6th...late night. When are you coming up so we can go to SWR?? Thanks for the packs How many did you get? I need at least 3. I will bring battery bars and jig and build them when I get there. I've seen your soldering skills and I would rather do 'em myself I can't believe it's been 4 years. How are the parts I sent you...still waiting for the Square center brace, gear case, and bearings to come in.
Holla,
P2

Hey Randy, Just so you know, countersunking the upper deck is illegal for TCS racing, so if you ever decide to run TCS, you'll have to get a new upper deck
