For those who are unaware, this was Novak's real test for their system, 4 Hour Race and they came 1st and 2nd......not bad considering there were Lhener, Hacker and other brushed motor teams competing as well.
glide1 TamiyaUSA.com only has the results not the rules...check out the pass events page under Events.

Default Izzyracer, thanks

izzy, you still running the Lenher BL? how does it compare to the Novak?

I would like to change bearings on mine, has anyone tried doing this? i'm hopping it's the same size as brushed motor bearings.

Glide1, why are you changing the bearings???
Yes, I'm still running the Lehner, but I switch to Schulze brushless ESC instead of the Lehner 7018. I found one at E-bay for a good price. This time I don't need to use a separate receiver and there is no cogging at all.
My Lehner setup now is as smooth as the novak and faster.
I MISS CEBU!!!!!!

Default bearings..

we've setup a few, 3 to be exact and all of them seem to be a little noisey out the box - loaded and no load conditions.

Im in the planning stages of a project and curious about who much torque the novak system has (or any other or that matter). Lets just say it will be in a "bigger" car and will be running against nitros.

Before anyone recommends another system, keep in mind that I want absolutely no cogging and wish the throttle to be as smooth as possible without having to install an extra receiver battery.

thanks a lot.

I just installed my Novak SS Brushless in my Schumacher Mission tonight. I plan on comparing it to my Trinity P94 12X2 in my review. Hope to have it on my site by the end of the week. Here's the dyno sticker on the P94:

RPM: 26,392 @ 5 volts
Power: 127W @ 14.2K
Eff: 57.8% @ 20.3K
Torque: 150.0 Nmm

Should be an interesting comparison.

Well, here's my review:

http://www.balakracing.com/novakss.htm

It's not as in depth as I wanted it to be. When they Finish the track in Jackson, NJ or I get a chance to fly down to Speedline Hobbies in Largo, FL I'll try to do a better comparison to a 12x2 or a 10x2.

Until then, enjoy.

Has anyone noticed hesitation in the Novak Brushless under hard throttle after neutral?

Seems to be happening when the ESC gets warm ...

FYI ... FT TC3 geared at 24/72 ... Large outdoor asphault track with medium traction currently.

Default Runtime?

What is the average runtime do you guys get? I am thinking of getting one to run on practice days. I'll be using GP3300s.
