any TC3 guys running HPI rims??
ok i picked up a set of HPI rims and tires the other day. now thanks to my shear laziness i didnt glue the tires, but when i tried to mount the wheels for pictures my problem started, the nut that you use on the TC3 is too big. i scrounge all over hardware stores to no avail. and my LHS doesnt have the rs43 nuts, but i dont know if those would work?

I drive with Yok disc rims...they fit right on the hexs just fine.

i talking HPI not yokomo
the problem isnt the nut, its fitting the nut and then the wrench.
im almost tempted to bring it all back(tires and everything) and order nicer ones online for cheaper, considering i paid 55-60 bucks for tires and hey didnt tell me they wouldnt fit

I have in the past but you have to enlarge the axle hole on the rims a bit to make them fit.

well looks like my LHS is getting a set of rims and tires back tomorrow...luckly they keep a computer record of what customers buy(so its like a personal receipt) give them back and then order some friggin sorex with some yok or proline rims for half the price

Andrew - I have had the same problem with HPI wheels, and some of my Take-Offs. You just need to enlarge the axle hole a little bit with a reamer, or a drill bit.

let me say it a little more clear, this has absolutely nothing to do with the axel holes. i was able to wiggle them on. but i cant tighten the nuts because the little hole for the nut is too small for the nut and the wrench
which is why i think im gonna return them and buy either some sorex's or some take offs
hey troy, one other Q, how well does 24mm work with your nitro? i thought most run 26. just curious

Andrew-- pay close attention!! These nuts are smaller which allows ythe use of a smaller wrench which does fit inside the wheel openning...... HPI nuts will not fit because they use a 4mm thread, and Associated uses an 8/32 thread......

Ahh, I see. My-bad.
Andrew - I never ( that i remember ) ran 24mm on my RS4. I always ran 26mm. I did use some of my old nitro rubbers on my electric when I first started with that, but not the other way around.
Nitro racing is almost all foam now anyways..

yes i saw it, chill, but my lhs doesnt carry them. im just gonna avoid the trouble and return it all. i dont wanna run completely different nuts because of wheels. nuts are too easy to loose

the website you gave me has the take offs listed as 24mm
typo? or are the 26s just not listed?

DO NOT USE PLASTIC NUTS
There are many brands of rims that are not designed very well (nitro shoes)
I have a nut driver turned down to fit in the rims.

They are 24mm, but from what you told me on FFH, You aren't racing, and you were looking for cheap tires, so I gave you that link.
For what it sounds like your doing ( again, from what you told me on FFH ) 24 v.s. 26mm won't matter.
