Which 1/8 buggy for my budget/experience level?

the X-Ray is a VERY fast and Very strong car i rarely see people break parts on them, but as with the current breed of race buggy's they can be very hard to drive and beginners prefer a heavier more stable car like a 7.5 or a D8

xray is one of the best no doubt. I like the way it glides through the air.
just get one and race it.
but if i was you, and that was my budget. I would get the oddonnel z01t. they are generally cheaper out of all the big ones except the d8.
And some would agree that it is better then the d8. Lot's of oddonels at my track and they do very well. And they are durable.
Also, is it 450$ for just a buggy? or for everything?

I think kyosho has the most expensive part down. I have seen the strr and mp9 and i was impressed.

Thanks fo the replies. I've decided to go with the D8 - most people seem to rate it, and I've watched a few youtube vids about it. Plus a major selling point is its price - just brought one new from Pac Coast Hobbies (via ebay) for $299.
Its my first kit so no doubt I'll be on here a lot with build problems haha.
Cheers again for the feedback.
