the OS speed is a 40K motor...... rember its a offroad motor even tho its a 500 something dollar motor the basic ninja spanks its like no problem......plus the ninja 21 offorad actually pushes out 43,000 RPM

RPM isnt everything but since the thread is asknig about the highest RPMS motor i would have to say the ninja 21 ONROAD its a 7 PORT 47K RPM motor.....but offroad its GARGABE (im asumeing u want it for a jato)
another huge RPM motor is the NVOAROSSI 35 plus 21 i 4got the numbers but i rember the price tag of 600 dollars

also if u can still find it (used on ebay) the highest RPM motor ever built (as far as i know i could be wrong) was the AXE ROSSI MERANELLO motor it rated in at 52K RPM....it had a chome egg shaped head and a red caseing it was a ONROAD MOTOR.....AXE rossi also made a offroad version of this motor called the BLACK MAGIC but i 4got how many RPM it had but it was FREAKING FAST

the black magic turns up on ebay alot sometiems even new but the meranello is one SUPER HARD FIND in fact im check ebay right now to see if i find one

My RB C6BB showed 45300rpm according to spektrum rpm sensor. I guess the new C6 BB T7 would show even more, because of the new turbo head.

I also had the Black Magic engine, but it was very hard to tune and finally the rod broke. Not very good memories about it.

^^^ Actually, the WS7III is slightly higher revving than the C6BB engine, but the C6BB gets to its top revs quicker. Also, I would assume that the RPM sensor on the spektrum is not quite accurate enough to measure those rpms. If someone has more insight into that, I would gladly listen.

THe Trininty Extech 2.0 FM has a "useable" RPM range up to 45K. Not to say it won't wind out higher. I know when mine is on the pipe it was scary when it wound up.

It doesn't matter if your engine will hit 50k if it isn't laying down any torque.

You know something. I don't trust the printed RPM rating on any motor. Some say the Xdyno is the best way to get results. The testing conditions much change from one motor to another, because it's not accurate.

I was looking at an Rc Extreme magazine from 2005 when they were testing the Thunder tiger EB S3. and they used an O.S. V-spec. the claimed number on the dyno sheet was some 40,000++ # and a top speed of 50++. and then a recent RC Xtreme magazine tested a vehicle with a V-spec again, and the rpm's were significantly lower, and it turned a top speed of about 41 MPH.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure O.S. motors are getting better not worse. This is just my thoughts, and I was recalling all my facts from memory, so don't grill me if my numbers are off slightly.

One dyno deos not equal another. Its impossible to calibrate both equally. Even the same dyno for two engine tests will give different #'s. As tiny as RC engines are, any slight variance has huge results in #'s. Outside temp, bearing temp, humidity, etc.

Dynos are for tuneing an engine so that engine has the best powerband its going to have. Its a tool to get the most out of an engine. It is NOT a tool used to compare engines. Such comparison can only be made on the track. Sometimes its obvious, but thats not the dynos purpose. Its a shame that its used that way.
