There's no pinion on my motor yet. I checked all the wires, still nothing.

I assume you don’t have another sensor wire, but you may want to try another. They can be kind of fragile and if you pull on the wires to unplug them, they have a tendency to break.

And for next time, the alternative to pulling on the wires is using a pick or other pointed tool to push the connector out from the side.
