Default Team Orion Speed Weekend (Germany)

You can follow the action of the orion Speed Weekend at this website
team-orion-speed-weekend

Look at the drivers who are competing against each other, Rheinhard, Surikarn, Hara, Groskamp, Drescher and a lot more (sorry for those I forgot to mention). It is held in Rheinberg (Germany).

Looks like some great competition! And lost of good pics, especially of the track.

I personally love European carpet tracks. They are very good replicas of outdoor type tracks with lots of flowing turns and free space between lanes.

I hope the Carpet World Cup track in Geneva is of this caliber.

I agee with Rick. Due to space limitation, usually indoor carpet tracks are small.
This one is the largest I've seen so far with nice quick flowing turns.
From previous pictures, the Carpet World Cup takes place in a smaller arena, and last years track was pretty small..

But I dissagree with the pics.
Team Orion has spoiled us with much better coverage in the past.
This is taking place in Zurich if I am not mistaken.
I would expect much better coverage...
And pics of the equipment and cars of the top guys?
Where is all that?

@John:
The track is located at Rheinberg (Germany) and is organized bij a German RC club named: MAC Walsum. One of the organisers is Uwe Rheinard (yes indeed the father of .).
But on the other hand, there are pics ;-)
(And the result after 4 heats is on the site).

Ah, no, there are no pictures of cars, equipment etc. On one of the first pictures you see Mr. Rheinhard, the 'big man' behind all of this.
I am sure there will be pictures (on other sites) after the event. Judging at the time, it is real close between Hara and Marc.
There are three very short videos (low quality, yes we are spoiled with the coverage of Team Orion in the past. I know it cost a lot of time and money to do that kind of coverage, and it was not possible at the moment).

The main reason is time. This year I raced more than I have in past years racing mostly 1/8 off-road and 1/10 gas truck. These two classes take a lot of time.

I have thought about trying to race some of the bigger carpet races (Snowbirds/Cleveland?etc) but there is limited practice time unless you leave a week ahead and practice somewhere else. I am already gone enough:-)

I am racing Carpet at the World Cup

I think the World Cup track is bigger this year because the pits have been moved to allow for space for the track. At least I hope so. Last year's track was pretty small. I think the format has changed too which sounds pretty interesting.

Yeah I wish Team Orion was able to get coverage fort his race. I wish I knew why we aren't doing it. We have , by now, all seen what is possible with internet race coverage. It is probably a mattr of time and money.
