Default DAKOTA THUNDER R/C CLUB 2013 SCHEDULE

We encourage preregistration. Either call our sponsor Wheels Wings-N-Hobbies at (701) 667-7200 or post in this thread. To preregister, we will need your name, transponder number, transmitter frequency, and class of vehicle(s).

RACE DATES:
June 1
June 15 - no points ... long jump competition ... r/c fest ... come out, have fun!
July 27
August 10
September 7 - triple crown finale

SCHEDULE OF DAY:
7:00am-10:00am *practice/registration
10:00am-10:15am drivers meeting
10:30am racing begins
We try to finish mains by 5:00pm

* Late arrivals will not be allowed to run their first qualifier.

DTRC races consist of two 6 minute qualifiers and a main with longer times. We take a quick lunch break (offering hot dogs/brats, chips, pop) after round one of the qualifiers which is usually around 12:30pm. After lunch we start the second round of qualifiers. Race fees are $20 for the first class and $10 for each additional class.

DTRC CLASSES AND MAIN TIMES:
  • 1/10 2wd open buggy/truck (10 min. mains)
  • 1/10 2wd open short course buggy (10 min. mains)
  • 1/10 2wd open short course truck (10 min. mains)
  • 1/10 4wd open buggy (10 min. mains)
  • 1/10 4wd open short course truck (8 min. mains)
  • 1/8 monster trucks (10 min. mains)
  • 1/8 electric buggy (10 min. mains)
  • 1/8 nitro/electric truggy (20 min. mains)
  • 1/8 nitro buggy (20 min. mains)

DTRC races are roughly based on roar rules, visit roarracing.com.

ALERT! DTRC is upgrading our transponder decoder to the new RC4 version and our lap counting software to RC Scoring Pro. This means the AMB clone MRT transponders will not work. Fortunately there is currently an open 60% discount offer to upgrade to the new RC4 transponder. Check the RC4 decoder transponder compatibility chart to make sure you're ready.

Just my 2 cents E truggy ran 20 min mains with the gas truggys last year and I think everyone was happy. The gas guys like there long mains and too make the gas guys kneel down for 2 E truggy? Well to me its just not right. But its your club your rules. like I said just my 2 cents??

That's a good point randy. Our club uses the rule set for whichever power system has more of a numbers. If there are more electrics run 10 minutes, if there are more nitro run 20.

Randy, I remember that now. Made the update.

Will PRCP be using the RC4 decoder?

Adam, that sounds like a reasonable rule to adopt.

Thanks!

PRCP will finish the carpet season with the decoder we have. Then we will up date to RC4. This will give everyone time to update. This change I think will be good for the RC hobby? The whole state will be on the same page. Remember you can send in your old transponeds in and get new ones for $60 very good deal. PRCP has sold out of transponders for now we are trying to get a deal on a order of 10 ????
Dont forget April 6 will be our last carpet race forcast says it will a nice day hope everyone can make it
Doors open at 8:00 racing starts at 10:45

What is the current track condition at wwnh? Any chance of some practice over there? I've heard that the bis/man area is significantly dryer then out here in jamestown. Thanks

Thanks for posting the dates! I'm going to try and make all the races. Have you considered promoting the races or series with a Facebook page? You could update it with results and pictures from every race. That may start a buzz and get more racers to your track. Both Pingree and Mandan are great places to race with good people. See you all next month!

Good to see another nitro joining the action! Nice mp9!
Keep me posted on the track condition toward the end of the week if possible. I will drive over from jamestown to run if its no problem. I'd flip a little cash to run some laps even!
