would cutting off the tamiya connector on the charger and replacing it with a dean plug mess up your charger in any way? thanks for the help everyone.

A friend of mine also did it on his 959 and it works perfectly. It doesn't hurt the charger at all as long as you solder the wires onto the plugs correctly.

Well, thanks for the help. I found the deans plugs on towerhobbies.com & on ebay....so they're obviously readily available. I'm just making a shopping list of small odds & ends that I need to buy before I place my order.

Another question I have: Does anyone know of a company that makes a VW GTI body?? I'm looking for the MKIV style (99+)...I know there use to be one for the HPI Minis, but from what I found it was a 225 body and my Sport2 is a 190. Also, do all 190 bodies fit on all 190 cars..meaning can I use a Tamiya w/ my HPI or is there going to have to be some major modifing??

Any 190mm body should fit any 190mm car... I'm not 100% sure, but if its a brand new body and its mounted right it should fit just right. You might experience a little bit of tire to body rub but thats normal.
