That's interesting.. Why are the front Drive shafts shorter on the S1 than the R1?

Seems like they would have to be the same or the outdrives are longer?

As far as I've worked the R1 has everything the S1 has plus these:

Aluminium bulkheads
Aluminium steering crank
Aluminium hexes
Aluminium shock bodies
Aluminium suspension mounts + replaceable plastic inserts
Aluminium turnbuckles + ball studs
CF shock towers
CF top deck
CF chassis
52mm front driveshafts
Front and rear roll bars

No idea, just noticed it while reading through both manuals. The outdrives are the same between both cars too.

Ok, I'm officially impressed. I submitted my problem to Spec-R about the double front suspension mounts about 2.5 weeks ago. They confirmed the issue and shipped me a replacement free of charge and it arrived today. Very well packaged and it's exactly what I needed. These guys are Great! If they keep this up they'll have a VERY loyal customer!

Can't wait to get some Aluminum C hubs, knuckles, servo mounts, and rear hubs! I've not broke any yet but after snapping the outer hinge pin last time I'm sure it's just a batter of time before I break a hub or arm. Still, I couldn't ask for more from a car with my paltry skills and knowledge of TC.

Why yes, yes they are! :-) I hope to be down to only the kit spacers with these. Basic ceramic bearings is all they are.

Any chance of the part numbers or sizes if you get a moment?

Thanks!

They are the same as the steering rack flanged bearings, 5x8x2.5mm. No particular part number. (Spec-R doesn't list an actual part number for any of the bearings since they are all common.)

Ended up costing less than $10 usd shipped.

Took the plunge and ordered the S1. My local track is *very* low grip and with a full carbon car, you end up taking off the swaybars and running very soft on the suspension settings, so I'm hoping the more flexy chassis material and plastic bulkheads wil generate a lot of grip anyway. The last car I had runnng superb there was a HB Cyclone S, before I went silly and threw a lot of the 3Racing catalog at it. Just hoping someone in the UK will pick up distribution of the car.

What (if anything) is being broken on the R1? Need to get some spares in, just in case. Otherwise, what bits from other cars will fit (thinking arms, hubs etc)?

I wasn't able to resist and I pulled the trigger this morning on an S1 kit. It will be interesting to see how it compares to my Sakura Zero S.
