OS 21XZ-R SPEED NITRO %
Hi guys, i am concerned about the best percentage of nitro i can run in this engine? 25% 30%? mainly used for high speed runs and general onroad bashing, no racing. thanks!

also, what's the best setting for lsn tune? i cant seem to get it just right. either its too rich or too lean and wont idle? idle speed screw is open about 1mm

25% nitro with at least 10% oil (castor and synthetic mix). With a 0.5mm head clearance (1 piece of 0.2mm silver shim), RP7 plug. Set the mixture correctly and this engine is an absolute beast, be it the standard V2 or Speed version.
HSN and LSN settings I set them on the track according to how the engine perform. But my current setting of the LSN is about 0.5mm out from flush. The mid range adjustment on the other side of the carb I don't touch.

ok mine has two head shims? one .1mm copper and 1 .2mm aluminum. is this correct or should i remove the copper one? and also, on the low speed, if i turn it out to .5mm from flush it bogs or do you mean in .5mm from flush? i got the best result from screwing it in until it cuts off then back it out 1/4 of a turn and it idles fine? i just dont want to damage it thats why i was worried about that. so i need to screw it out more and adjust the idle speed to compensate and remove one shim? im using odonnell 25% with rp7 plug. top end pulls strong it revs up smooth with a light smoke trail. its just the low speed that stumps me. thanks for all your help in advance.

ok i think the low speed is fine, it is right around flush with the slide body and i just switched my clutch out for 1.1 mm springs and lightweight aluminum shoes. hsn is just a tad under 3 turns out. idles down decent after a high speed pass.
